The Queensbury Hotel’s lobby renovation project recently began with a wonderful discovery. When preparing to replace the carpeting and 1990s-era flooring, we uncovered the original terrazzo floor from the hotel’s opening in 1926. We are pleased to say we are keeping and restoring the floor, as part of our commitment to providing our guests with modern amenities, while preserving our hotel’s historical and architectural charm and beauty. Terrazzo is created by embedding chips of marble, granite, glass or other materials in cement and then polishing it to a sheen. We’re thrilled with the luster it brings our grand old Downtown hotel.
